Job Description

The Adult Education and Employment Coordinator is responsible for implementing job readiness workshops including resume writing, job interviewing, completing job applications and networking for our clients. This position works with families and case managers to develop an employment plan as part of an integrated case plan. The position also works with the client until they are enrolled in an educational program and/or are gainfully employed. The Adult Education and Employment Coordinator also develops networking relationships, and is the point of contact person, with government agencies, training programs, educational opportunities, job readiness programs, and direct employers in the D.C. metro area in order to facilitate client placement. In addition to this, the position directly supervises all shelter employment specialisst and employment interns.
 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of three years of experience working in the field of workforce development.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in a counseling setting with a hard to employ population.
Knowledge of local employment resources preferred.
Strong Microsoft office skills and ability record and analyze data.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Experience working with homeless and or low-skilled families preferred.
