Senior Manager - Marketing Technology Products
This position will be focused on a combination of operation and strategic activities relating to the Firm’s marketing technology. On the Operational side, this role will focus on adoption of best practices in regard to the use of existing marketing technology including InterAction, matter profiling and email marketing. This will include overseeing a 20+ member team including in a shared service operation in Manila. The role will also work closely with IT to ensure data integration between the Firm’s other major information databases and the marketing technology systems. On a strategic front, the role will be responsible for monitoring the market and staying abreast of developments and helping to develop our product roadmap for the future. The role will also shape our approach to using data analytics to support more strategic BD efforts.
Overview of the role The Senior Product Manager - Marketing Technology is responsible for the management and development of a variety of products and technology services related to the Marketing function of the Firm. The Senior Product Manager is part of the global Marketing Operations function and will:
• Take ownership of all development projects and current systems in the Marketing function. The SPM will also be expected to act as the ‘face’ of the Marketing function when interacting with the senior leadership of the firm and other business services functions.
• Constantly assess the Marketing function’s technology requirements and actively align changes in both product functionality and business needs to a product road-map that addresses updates, upgrades and evaluation of current and alternative products/systems.
• Provide direction for both the maintenance of business user technical support and user support services, in both our offices and Manila/Tampa centers. Guide the Firm’s Marketing Technology Managers and help them make recommendations where appropriate.
• Deliver product and services according to the road map by engaging effectively with business stakeholders and coordinating the efforts of team members, third-parties and vendors.
This position will work with members of various marketing, legal and non-legal groups in defining deliverables across our systems and processes.
The position requires knowledge of - and prior experience with - best practices for effectively rolling out
and managing marketing software-based initiatives and projects as well as experience in business process engineering and change management. A thorough understanding of the professional services/legal environment is essential also.
The SPM will serve as the lead manager for the following products:
• InterAction: The Firm’s CRM technology and Vuture – the Firm’s email marketing tool. The role also has responsibility for investigating other online relationship management/analysis tools.
• MPS: The Firm’s Matter, Bio and standard pitch wording tool.
• The role will also require involvement in the Firm’s ‘ESP’ project - cross-functional working group on data integration.
• Automated Pitch Building Technology: This is a Q1 2015 project to be led by the SPM.
• Digital Marketing competitive intelligence: Project for 2015.
• Marketing Resource Center: The Firm’s intranet resource for the Marketing function.
• Marketing Hub: The Marketing function’s internal communication and resources tool.
• Intranet: The Firm is undergoing a redesign of the global intranet and the SPM will represent Marketing in this project. We are also currently building a new channel for internal communications and some element of advisory work will be required on this.
• Social Media: Although responsibility for our website and social media lies in our Creative and Comms teams respectively, the SPM will be expected to give insight/counsel in this area also.
This position may involve domestic and international travel and must perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
• Setting best practices and functional requirements for products and align that functionality with business needs
• Managing vendor relationships and development of product road map
• Coordinate with complementary business services’ product managers/owners
• Manage relationship with key business stakeholders (both legal and support groups)
• Produce annual budget and regular cost analysis and tracking
• Champion the Marketing Technology management suite of products and services
• Establish and drive the direction of the product-based solutions on both the strategic and tactical business requirements of the Firm.
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables as well.
• Defines project tasks, identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Secure all necessary approvals for all project deliverables.
• Effectively apply the firm's project management methodology and enforce project standards.
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Risk Management - Minimizes exposure and risk across multiple projects. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Strong presentation and communication skills to non-technology audience
• Substantial knowledge of project management techniques and tools
• Work experience in project management capacity, in strategic planning, in risk management and in change management.
• Ability to lead teams and strong leadership skills.
• Experience in projects encompassing vendor management skills.
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of relevant work experience
