Senior Systems Engineer

Information Technology (IT), Operations

 

• Coordinate, implement, and support server systems, storage, and infrastructure, including, Windows Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, and EMC storage/backup.

• Effectively work with other Operations team members, other IT groups, business departments and end users to provide excellent service.

• Support common legal industry vertical applications, including WallBuilder, Interaction, AccuRoute, etc.

• Develop relationship with systems providers and vendors as a primary technical contact.

• Develop and administer methodologies to proactively monitor system health and performance and potential upgrades with a view to increasing system reliability and performance.

• Evaluate and recommend firm-wide systems engineering and architecture standards and strategies to increase reliability and manageability. 

• Seven plus years related experience and a stable work experience.

• Understanding and experience with the latest Microsoft Windows Server technologies including, Active Directory 2008, Exchange 2010, SQL Server, IIS and related services (e.g. DFS, DHCP, and DNS).

• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and support of the VMware including vCenter, vcOPS and SRM.

• Configuration and support of EMC storage and backup solutions including VNX, Data Domain, RecoverPoint and Powerpath.

• Proper usage of native server optimization and performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as use of similar external tools.

• Configuration and support of HP C7000 or Cisco UCS or comparable blade systems.

• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP operation in a distributed, client/server environment, ideally including iSCSI and FCOE.

• Backup operation, disaster recovery planning and procedures.

• Credentials such as Microsoft Certifications and Bachelor's degree are welcomed.
