Job Description
• Attends to repairs and maintenance of all systems and related equipment to heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
• Advises on improvements to present mechanical systems.
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance program.
• Carry out electric arc welding, argon gas welding and oxy-acetylene welding.
• Carry out minor fabrication work and metal work when required.
• Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/designate to prepare spare lists for the mechanical equipment.
• Responsible for giving information to supervisor in order to facilitate stock control and ordering of materials and spare parts.
• Attends to Guestroom Maintenance requests when instructed to do so.
• To perform shift duties when assigned by supervisor.
• Attends meeting or training sessions as required by management.
• Complies with Constance Safety, Fire and Hygiene Policy and Procedures.
• Complies with Departmental Standards and Procedure (SOP).
• Participates with the resort’s energy conservation program.
• Ensure that Workshop and related areas are kept in a safe, clean and hygienic condition.
• Ensure that issued hand tools are kept in proper working order
• Records daily work activity on the daily work summary.
• Does all jobs or tasks assigned by supervisor or managers regarding engineering work
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Interacts – cooperates with others in the Engineering Department.
• Interacts and cooperates with resort contractors as directed
• Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
• Acts as Fire Brigade Team Member when assigned.
Qualifications
Qualification:
• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.
Technical skills:
• Knowledge of operation of equipments and the job.
• Ability to find fault and rectify subsystems.
• Ability to work in a fast environement.
• Able to adapt to unpredictable events.
• Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
