Job Description

Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in Seychelles, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Hygiene Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive hygiene and sanitation programmes across all areas of the resort
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local and international health and safety standards
  • Train and supervise the hygiene team, providing guidance on best practices and procedures
  • Collaborate with department heads to address hygiene-related issues and implement improvements
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective procurement and stock control
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest hygiene technologies and methodologies, implementing innovations where appropriate
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on hygiene performance, incidents, and audit findings
  • Liaise with local health authorities and external auditors as required
  • Respond promptly to guest feedback and concerns related to cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental health and safety regulations in Seychelles
  • Monitor and evaluate hygiene performance metrics and key performance indicators, reporting findings to senior management
  • Investigate hygiene-related incidents and complaints, implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Coordinate with external contractors, including pest control and specialist cleaning services, to maintain facility standards
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities for hygiene staff members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management Hygiene / Public Health, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Proven knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards, particularly in a luxury hotel setting
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including local requirements in Seychelles
  • Relevant certifications in food safety and hygiene management (e.g., HACCP)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and hygiene management software
  • Thorough understanding of quality assurance and control processes
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Creole would be advantageous
