Our Major Projects team have a number of ambitious projects either underway or in planning that will drive the future of renewable energy. The development of the Glenbrook-Ohurua Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in partnership with Tesla will significantly enhance energy security by storing excess renewable electricity and providing backup power during peak demand
We're now looking for a Senior Project Manager to work with us through the final 6-9 months of this BESS project as well as looking to get us started on the next one (either an extension of Glenbrook-Ohurua and or our Stratford site).
Job Description
Reporting to our Project Director - Renewables, you'll complete a groundbreaking project that will shape the future of energy in Aotearoa by adhering to the approved scope, timeline, consent conditions, and budget.
Being based at site you'll also be the kaitiaki (guardian) of the project, responsible for the wellbeing and safety of all personnel so your leadership will inspire and motivate your team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
As an experienced practitioner you'll navigate the complexities of project management with finesse, from final procurement through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You'll ensure the availability of resources, engage proactively with stakeholders, and support the Project Director in maintaining strong relationships. Your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills will be crucial in managing risks and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you'll bring over 10 years of construction project management experience within the energy industry, complemented by a relevant degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications and professional registration. Your international project management exposure and experience in the renewable energy sector will also be highly valued.
A deep understanding of the Health and Safety Act, especially in relation to construction sites, is essential, along with knowledge of contract law and the NZ Resource Management Act. You'll also possess in-depth expertise in quality systems, risk management, and project controls, including costs and scheduling. Additionally, your procurement and contract management experience will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects
