Job Description

The Benefits Specialist will report directly to the Senior HR Manager and will serve as Coyote’s primary knowledge base for all things benefits. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Employee Education and Wellness

Lead new hire benefits orientation and confidently answer employee benefits questions

Develop literature to help employees better understand our benefits

Lead annual open enrollment education meetings

Work with our vendors to resolve employee claim issues

Develop an employee wellness plan to drive healthy behavior and steer benefits use

Coordinate in office flu shots and biometric screenings

 

Administration and Processing

Assist in evaluating, designing, and implementing benefits plans

Handle daily administration of Coyote’s benefits plans including processing changes and updates in our HRIS

Work with HRIS Specialist to build and maintain benefits reports

Audit new hire elections before they go into the system

Send eligibility files to carriers and resolve any outstanding issues

Manage open enrollment including setup, education, audit, etc.

Ensure timely processing regarding life events

Reconcile monthly invoices to HRIS data

Send out COBRA letters and coordinate payments with accounting

Manage workers compensation cases and leaves of absence

Administer the 401K plan including audits, compliance, documentation, and investment committee coordination

Qualifications

Coyote is looking for the following:
Ability to efficiently organize workload, adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of deadlines

Excellent communication at all levels

Strong attention to detail and confident decision making skills

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Knowledge of the HIPPA Privacy Rule, Section 125, ERISA, FMLA and Healthcare Reform

Minimum of 3-5 years of benefits administration
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic HRIS reporting knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree
