Job Description

Cricut is seeking an experienced and versatile QA Engineer to assist with testing software and hardware for product releases. You will be responsible for testing new products & applications in early development phases, communicating with internal development teams and certifying and releasing software with release notes. You should be able to represent QA concerns in cross-functional team meetings and also provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience.

This position requires a solid understanding of the software development life-cycle, experience with a variety of testing techniques, strong written and organizational skills and networking experience. The QA Engineer will develop and execute an organized test plan to release high quality products to market on schedule.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with software, hardware and firmware development teams to test Cricut products and applications 
  • Come to fully understand the use cases of all Cricut products and use cases to know how to test every nook and corner
  • Be able to test both UI centric applications as well as back-end services
  • Develop and refine test plans for new products/features to ensure adequate test coverage
  • Troubleshoot issues down to the root cause and provide detailed bug reports
  • Record all test results for and provide a high level summary of areas tested
  • Scrub defects reported from internal team and external partners, suggest the defect severity and urgency with good knowledge of user cases
  • Certify software releases and prepare release notes
  • Coordinate the alpha and beta product trials as part of the QA process for new products
  •  Understand the testing intricacies of web and mobile products
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and find the right balance between delivering quality products and aggressive release cycles
  • Be able to provide the utmost detail around each bug (detailed steps to reproduce, screenshots, accurate prioritization, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience writing and executing QA test plans for software or consumer electronics products
  • 2+ years testing iOS and Android native applications as well as web applications (responsive applications, multi-browser support)
  • Experience generating and presenting quantitative reports
  • Knowledge of consumer products and user interfaces
  • Thorough understanding of QA methodology and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes and work independently in a fast paced environment 
  • Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance; detail-orientation is a must
  • Not must have, but nice to have experience with automation frameworks for web and mobile (i.e. Calabash, Cucumber, Selenium)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Enjoys working in a fun and energetic environment
