Job Description

As part of a small but dynamic UX team at Cricut, you will be looked upon to help shape the experience by thoroughly understanding our users and creating delightful experiences. This role requires you work cross functionally to understand the business requirements and ensure you deliver quality products. You should have a passion for understanding what makes users “tick”, and developing solutions that go well beyond their expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to design both web and mobile applications
  • You will need to brainstorm, collaborate, research, and execute upon your ideas
  • You will need to demonstrate a passion for taking complex ideas and presenting simple solutions
  • You will be required to think creatively to produce new ideas and be proactive in presenting ideas and designs to stakeholders
  • You should be confident in presenting ideas and designs to stakeholders; gathering feedback and incorporating feedback into the design direction
  • This role will be required to work on more than one project at a time
  • You will work in a cross functional environment with teams including engineering, hardware, marketing, product management and sales
  • You will be expected to quickly brainstorm ideas and provide detailed UX for the development team
  • Junior UX Designer will report to the Director of UX and Industrial Design

Qualifications

Required Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of the UX design process
  • Proven track record of solid UX design experience as demonstrated in a portfolio
  • Ability to receive and participate well in design feedback
  • Present and articulate concepts to members of the UX design team as well as many other teams including, product managers, engineers, sales and executive teams
  • Demonstrated experience in turning complex problems into simple, engaging customer experiences
  • Demonstrated experience in either Adobe Creative Suite or Bohemian Sketch
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders including, interviews, design reviews and general project updates
  • A strong desire to understand current and emerging design patterns, tools and processes
  • Ability to quickly sketch concepts to illustrate ideas
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience designing for mobile (iOS and Android)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience conducting customer research including competitive analysis, user testing, and focus groups
  • Strong visual design portfolio
  • A degree in a related field, such as human-computer interaction, human factors or interaction design or 2+ years experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with wireframing and flowchart tools such as Balsamiq, Draw.io, Axure, Visio, 
  • OmniGraffle or Paper by FiftyThree.
  • Knowledge of Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design
