Transportation Specialist (Quitman, GA)

Crown Health Care Laundry has an immediate opening for a Transportation Specialist.
CLASS A CDL REQUIRED!!!!
Preferred candidates must have at least 5 years experience in DOT operations, prior experience supervising or managing drivers, a good working knowledge of DOT requirements and regulations, and a current CDL license. Must have good computer skills and a willingness to be hands on.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Transportation Specialist is to provide guidance and leadership to the drivers, ensuring that customer needs are met and exceeded.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manage daily route operations as follows:

   • Ensure that adequate staffing exists through effective scheduling.

   • Ensure that all drivers are adequately trained on paperwork procedures by individual training

   • Ensure that all paperwork is complete at day’s end and turned in to corporate as necessary.

   • Hold routine team meetings

2. Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance to ensure compliance with DOT regulations:

   • Ensure that trucks receive routine maintenance.

   • Ensure that trucks are kept in an acceptable, respectable fashion.

   • Complete DIVRs in a timely and accurate manner.

   • Communicate any other necessary DOT information to Safety Coordinator in an expeditious manner.
