Job Description

This unique role combines technical sales with community involvement and is critical to our aggressive growth strategy. As a Sales Engineer, you will spend approximately 80% of your time using your extensive technical knowledge to provide expertise and support technical requests for all business and sales activities in your sales region. The other 20% of your time will be focused on supporting internal and external training requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and on-going education of our products and services to sales team, prospective customers, and business partners
  • Present software applications/solutions to prospective clients
  • Create customized product demonstration for prospects
  • Help the sales team increase sales by providing technological support (e.g. technical questions, designs, customer trials, demos, etc.)
  • Gather and analyze prospect data to recommend a solution to meet prospect requirements against their defined objectives
  • Identify customer technical pains and needs in order to isolate and target a specific solution selling strategy
  • Conduct Proof of Concept engagements tailored to customer requirements
  • Assist with responses to RFPs and RFIs for prospects
  • Work with sales team to help qualify newly developed sales opportunities
  • Articulate organization’s project methodology
  • Understand the client/prospects needs and ease concerns a prospect may have about using DNN
  • Evangelize DNN using various tools including Social Media
  • Contribute to the community through areas like DNN Forge, Blogs, Forums and Q&A
  • Present to DNN User Groups and Code Camps, as needed

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Must be a wiz with creating web sites, working with web based products and general Internet website hosting
  • Highly motivated with excellent work ethic, energy, initiative and a team attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to define customer requirements and deliver results exceeding those requirements
  • Highly experienced in the delivery of presentations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must understand and be responsive to customer needs, work under tight deadlines, quickly learn new technologies, and work independently
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable enough to discuss numerous technologies
  • Experience in developing e-learning and software certification programs a big plus
  • Must live near San Mateo, CA or be willing to relocate
