Job Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting. You will be in charge of preparing and presenting financial statements and tax records as well as providing financial reports to the corporate head offices. You will coordinate quarterly and annual audit files, manage cash flow, and improve internal auditing standards and practices. You will work in a team of nine professionals and technicians for a global business comprised of three distinct companies.


More specifically, the successful candidate will:


-          Plan, coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements

-          Actively take part in analyzing financial statements

-          Prepare monthly financial and cash flow reports for the parent companies

-          Prepare quarterly tax reports for the parent companies

-          Prepare quarterly and annual audit reports

-          Prepare the tax returns required for Canadian and provincial filing and auditing

-          Generate and maintain up-to-date analyses of tax basis accounting for balance sheets and income statements

-          Review monthly intercompany billing

-          Review accounts payable and expense reports

-          Review bank reconciliation and intercompany loans

-          Review consumption tax reports  

-          Review and analyze transfer pricing documentation  

-          Take part in developing accounting information systems

-          Be responsible for the finance and accounting modules of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and put in place a process to improve productivity, procedures and work flow

-          Take part in training accounting personnel


Education, experience and knowledge requirements (technical specifications):


-          Undergraduate degree in business administration or accounting

-          Chartered accountant (CA) designation

-          5-8 years experience in the field

-          3-5 years experience in a similar corporate position or accounting firm

-          Microsoft Office mastery

-          Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) an asset

-          Knowledge of Oracle products an asset

-          Fully bilingual in English and French, written and oral
