Darby Smart is a rapidly-growing, passionate, video community that lets you watch and make snappy, how-to videos - our mission is to allow people to turn their hobbies into side hustles. You can find thousands of snappy how-to videos that inspire new ideas in beauty, food and DIY and chat live with others while watching them.  We are the leaders in short-form video, and retailers and brands see incredible engagement when they use our content, and are craving for more!

You'll be owning and building out our iOS app to delight our users and build a thriving online community, making it a pleasure to create how-to videos, and easy to connect with other like-minded users.  Ultimately we want to connect our creators with brands and retailers so they can make money from the things they do just for fun today.  As the team grows you will be responsible for mentoring others in iOS best practices and patterns.

• Our engineers are expected to be product-centric - you will contribute to shaping our product features to meet our goals, not blindly implement specs provided by someone else

• You have relentless drive, work with a sense of urgency, and meet your commitments
• 3 year or more of on-the-job experience with iOS
• Expert in Swift, with an excellent knowledge of its ecosystem
• Strong knowledge of iOS design patterns and their trade-offs
• Demonstrated skills in delivering high quality, elegant code
• Expert understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience with embedded databases and other system datastores
• Expert with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end services
• Great sense of UI design and you have a user-oriented focus
• Knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Experience successfully mentoring others in iOS 
• You have a track record of maintaining a well organized, clean app architecture as the codebase grows 
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Familiarity with continuous integration
