Job Description

The cool stuff you'll do:

DataStax is looking for a talented engineer with expertise building high-performance, distributed systems to join our team in creating a distributed, scalable NoSQL data management platform.  DataStax Enterprise Server, based on Apache Cassandra, allows you to easily manage both your real time and analytic data in one integrated database solution.


THE PREFERENCE IS TO HIRE IN THE SILICON VALLEY AREA, HOWEVER REMOTE WORK IS POSSIBLE FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and improve the existing integration of Hadoop

  • Contribute to the ongoing and future development of Hadoop and related technologies

  • As time permits, participate in general product development around Cassandra, Solr and emerging technologies

Qualifications

The stuff you’ll need to succeed:

  • Strong Java background in systems or back-end software

  • Experience designing multi-threaded systems

  • Comfortable working with a distributed, larger development organization

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with Hadoop and Hive internals

  • Passionate about high performance large scale systems

  • Well organized and enjoys the freedom of working independently

The stuff that would be nice to have (but not a deal breaker)

  • 5+ years software development experience
