Job Description

As we continue through an exciting period of expansion and growth, we have an opportunity for a talented Assistant Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will:

  • Be an integral part of our growing Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance
  • Complete tasks including posting journals, managing the sales and purchase ledgers, reconciling the bank accounts and preparing weekly payment runs
  • Exposure to, and assisting with, the production of the monthly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, quarterly VAT returns and annual corporation tax returns
  • Assist in responding to requests from external stakeholders, including accountants and auditors
  • Help maintain a robust system of financial controls and identify process improvements where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a similar role in a small/medium sized company
  • Confident user of Excel and experience using accounting software (Xero is desirable) 
  • A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills and a sense of pride in your work
  • Reliable team player, with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable
