Job Description



Digital Roots is seeking a DevOps Engineer to add to our rapidly growing Software team.   

We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to to take on a challenge and get involved in a variety of projects. This individual will be assisting and eventually leading the charge, growing into a senior-level role.  Role details include all aspects of what it takes to ensure operations are up and running:  


  • automated monitoring, deployments, debugging, new features, versions/releases, etc.
  • writing scripts, tools, SQL queries, and being heavily involved with the release cycle and "operational process"
  • natural progression of mentoring/leading a group


This role essentially wears many hats so the ideal candidate will be resourceful, learn quickly and multi-task. 


  • Expert knowledge of programming in Java, JavaScript and Python
  • Operational use of tools such as Puppet, Chef, etc.
  • Experience implementing/supporting a continous delivery workflow using Git, Jenkins, and similar tools
  • The ability to quickly troubleshoot, diagnose, debug, problem solve the application stack
  • Ability to work in a Linux environment
  • Passion for technology, software, and data
  • Proficient with database design, web services, web design, and object oriented programming
  • Welcome a challenge, enjoys the freedom to create and use imagination
  • "Big data" analysis experience using NoSQL databases, preferred
