Job Description

EAD Constructors is looking for a Project Controls Specialist with Cost and Scheduling experience to estimate equipment, construction, and professional services (Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, and Automation). This individual must be able to participate in a cross-functional team environment in development and oversight of construction related project controls tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering, verifying , validating and analyzing data in support of project
    controls reporting

  • Generate, distribute, and archive daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly project controls
    reports

  • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities, adoption of best practices and
    counter measures to address gaps in performance

  • Develop schedules and analysis for contract packages to forecast construction
    activities and identify coordination issues where safety and schedule can
    potentially be in conflict

  • Track and manage changes to the project scope, schedule and cost baseline

  • Develops and maintains project schedules, cost estimates, track and trend cash flow
    reports, change control documentation (scope, cost or schedule and/or any
    reports associated with project controls)

  • Create project cost estimate in order to establish effective cost controls management

  • Assure that project estimate includes all necessary raw materials, resource/labor
    rates, manufactured materials/equipment as well as current industry data relative
    to project scope

  • Maintain effective relationships with customers, support the resolution of quality
    issues and completes proposals/project tasks/reports as negotiated

  • Display proficiency in conflict resolution and reaching win-win outcomes among team members

  • Implement project planning processes to include considerations of project setup,
    execution, monitoring and closeout

  • Work with cross-functional team members to ensure the project is on-time and
    on-budget

  • Ensure project controls procedures are implemented, and adhered to and result in no
    audit exceptions when audited both internally/externally or by clients

  • Provide leadership ability to guide, mentor and motivate the career development of
    others while providing accurate and consistent project controls advice to
    Project Managers

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
    reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and
    participating in professional societies

  • Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or other
    related field or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related
    experience

  • 3 years experience in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and
    assessing the progress and quality of project controls work with the ability to
    accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks; 5 years preferred

  • 3 years experience developing a construction cost estimate, a detailed
    engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a
    larger project required; 5 years preferred

  • Have an understanding of Federal, State, local and company safety policies and
    assist in the continued development of a Safety Culture in the workplace

  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software strongly
    preferred

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment is critical

  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to
    construction challenges routinely encountered in the prosecution of heavy
    commercial/industrial projects

  • High proficiency with Microsoft tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

  • 10hr OSHA certification a plus

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines

  • Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences

  • Ability to set priorities

  • Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or
    contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning
    schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the
    projection of all project controls deliverables

  • Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license

  • Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne
    particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud*

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs*

  • Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

  • Travel is required

*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal
protective equipment as necessary.
