Host Family Recruiter –Part Time

EF Language Travel (a division of EF Education First)


North Shore Area, MA – USA

 

EF Language Travel is dedicated to encouraging global awareness through cultural exchange and language learning. EF Language Travel allows international students ages 12 to 18 to explore another language and culture during summer homestay and residential programs in the USA lasting two to four weeks. In these escorted group travel programs, daily language lessons are combined with afternoon activities including sightseeing excursions, visits to local attractions, and cultural interest activities.

 

Synopsis

Are you passionate about international exchange and enhancing cultural understanding? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? EF Language Travel (LT) is looking for an eager, well-connected host family recruiter to find and interview caring, enthusiastic, open-minded families in the North Shore Area who are willing to host high-school age international students for 3-4 weeks this coming summer. The host family recruiter will also serve as a local agent throughout the summer, acting as the point of contact for host families throughout the summer program. Students are from Europe and Asia and range in age from 14-17 years old and will stay between 3 - 4 weeks. This role is closely supported by an Operations Manager.

 

The Role

  • Recruits and screens host families
Promotes EF Language Travel in the community at local events, and through visits to schools, churches, local businesses etc.
  • Proactively establishes a network of contacts with relevant local figures and organizations
Assists in the development of program activity calendar
Helps establish strategic school bus route based on location of host families homes
  • Places and matches students with host families
Updates and maintains program database
Participates in staff and host family training and specified program events
Provides support to host families as needed during the program

Requirements

  • Requires valid a driver’s License and use of personal vehicle for transportation
  • Requires home office set up including internet connection, telephone, computer

  • Has a strong social network and is well-connected in the community (e.g. churches, schools, sports clubs)
  • Must have at least 3 strong proven network connections
  • Has great ideas of how to promote EF Language Travel in the community
  • Is passionate about cultural exchange
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of local community
