Compliance Summer Intern

EF High School Exchange Year

Synopsis

 

EF High School Exchange Year is seeking an intern to assist our compliance team with the host family screening process for students traveling on our 2014-15 international high school exchange program. As part of our team you will play an integral role in enhancing our program quality to deliver the experience of a lifetime to our students and host families across the country.

 

The Role

 

EF Exchange Year coordinates the placement of international high school exchange students from around the world with volunteer American host families. In this dynamic, fun and fast-paced internship, you will join our hard-working compliance team evaluating sensitive and critical screening information to determine the suitability of volunteer host families interested in welcoming students from around the world. More specifically, you will serve as an administrative point person in regards to screening and tracking incoming paperwork, identifying and escalating problematic issues to the applicable staff and ensuring the timely data entry of host family information. You may also be asked to assist with miscellaneous projects such as calling prospective host family references, assisting our Operations Manager with participant background checks or answering general inquiries/questions. The position is operations-oriented and requires that the candidate be able to change priorities quickly and multi-task. The candidate should also be extremely organized, detail-oriented and committed to excellence in their daily work. Customer service skills are also very highly valued. You will join a large team of Compliance Managers who will provide continuous training and assistance throughout the summer. This is a full time position running from June 1 to September 1 (M-F 9am – 5:30pm). Flexibility to potentially work extended hours or a shift-based schedule is also required. This is an excellent opportunity to get started in EF High School Year. Based on performance and availability there may be opportunities for future advancement.

Qualifications

  • Previous internship/office experience preferably in an administrative/customer service capacity
  • Self-starter who must be organized with a superb attention to detail
  • Goal-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, social and deadline driven work environment
  • Must be flexible and able to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Strong phone skills and an earnest desire to provide the best possible support to our program’s participants
  • Full-time availability during the summer months
