Job Description

Reporting to: • GM Flavors, North America

Place of Work

 • Costa Rica / Panama

Sales Director Central America will be responsible for developing and delivering flavor sales activities to industrial food accounts in the region. This includes developing and obtaining new customer accounts as well as maintaining and growing existing business. 


A major focus within this role will be partnering with key customer decision makers to develop new flavor sales within those accounts. This includes developing, implementing, and managing account-specific strategies to achieve sales goals and coordinating creative projects to bring added value to the customer.

 

This position will be based within a home office and be assigned a sales territory. Frequent travel to multiple customers throughout the assigned territory will be required. Accounts assigned for this position will have large volume sales potential. 


This position will report to the General Manager Flavors, North America and will work closely with members of the Sales, Technical Service and Creative teams. . He/she should bring proven business experience in pet food / food ingredients and extracts industry.

It will be expected that he/she will utilize their vast knowledge and practices to create and implement succesful customer relationships with the global players in the industry (as Mars, Nestle, Hill etc.) expand business with existing customers, whilst also substantially increasing the sales and profitability.


Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience 

 • BA / BS in Food technology / Chemistry  

• At least 7 years of proven commercial sales experience within the Flavor Industry in Central America

• Strong Business understanding alongside an excellent technological background 

   

Main Objectives & Tasks

• Handling large accounts and partner with decision makers 

• Implementing and managing account-specific strategies to target new accounts and increase business in existing accounts

• Developing of sales territory in line with the agreed annual sales budget and forecasting in order to ensure the budget is achieved

• Develop the area strategy in terms of product focus and target customers 

• Creatively growing existing business and obtaining new customer accounts

• Effectively developing and expanding a strong customer relationship at all relevant levels
