Job Description
You’ll be part of a small, focused team that builds out the future of our company. You’ll start by running and improving our existing managed services operation, and you’ll serve a critical role as we build out our next-generation SaaS offering.
We are looking for an exceptional Cloud Operations Engineer that lives by the philosophy of the “customer is first.” We’re the leader in systems to manage events, meetings, and workspaces. We work with an amazing list of great companies and educational institutions to help them manage and optimize their use of all kinds of spaces: meeting rooms, workspaces, executive briefing centers, classrooms, athletic fields, event space, and many other types.
We want to bring your experience working with cloud-based production systems into an energetic, fun environment where the work you will do makes a difference. On a daily basis you will:
* Manage our customers’ cloud-hosted applications, deploy new customers, and migrate existing customers to new releases
* Collaborate and use professional concepts to resolve issues and assist in our design decisions
* Work with Development teams as a resource regarding cloud technologies
* Review and respond to cloud hosting requirements from customers and prospects
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Drive customer satisfaction by providing world-class application availability and protection of customer confidentiality
* Enhance the scalability of our products and systems for our clients
* Work with cloud vendors on external technical support, upgrades, problem resolution
* Understand the IaaS environment to ensure a continued strong foundation of a stable, reliable, highly available, and highly secure least privilege policy
* Understand, implement and automate security controls, governance processes and compliance validation
* Assist in the establishment of 24x7 performance monitoring and response protocols
* Participate and provide recommendations on penetration testing activities and disaster recovery exercises
* Ensure efficiency and predictability of deployments and upgrades
* Provide on-call support outside of normal work hours and work days
Qualifications
* 3+ years of cloud operations experience, specifically some experience with Azure
* 2+ years of experience with automation or scripting tools (Powershell, Shell & Python)
* Strong Microsoft technology stack knowledge: Windows; IIS; SQL Server in a multi-tier application model
* 2+ years of experience in the software industry, deploying, and administering applications and infrastructure
* Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) components and windows systems administration
* 2+ years of experience managing networking infrastructure and monitoring
* Strong understanding of web applications, web technologies, cloud services
* Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills/methodologies, who is able to successfully manage multiple priorities
* Troubleshooting skills that range from diagnosing hardware/software issues to large scale failures within a complex infrastructure
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DESIRED
* Experience in a high performance global cloud enterprise operations environment
* Experience with systems performance tuning and load testing is a plus
* Knowledge of chef, Docker is a plus
* B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
