Job Description
Scope of Position:
The Domestic Inbound Accounting, Tracking & Tracing Agent for the Domestic Inbound team (referred to as the “Transcon” team at Expeditors) is responsible for overseeing all financial activities related to inbound shipments. This includes managing destination charges, ensuring accurate and timely billing, maintaining clean and auditable financial records, and posting transactions promptly. The role also involves daily tracking of inbound shipments to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and key performance indicators (KPIs), while accurately recording revenue and associated costs.
Position Schedule: Sunday – Thursday: Sunday 7am-4pm, Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and trace inbound files for timely delivery and to meet operational performance standards and all KPI’s
- Log and dispatch files for delivery
- Update Expeditors offices of extra special handling requirements
- Update files with necessary event codes
- Settle and close out files
- Review invoices and send charges
- Manage White Glove and review special billing procedures
- Review service provider billing sheets
- Monitor accounting
- Review reporting to ensure freight is moving in a timely manner
- Email and follow up exception shipments with origin offices
- Review files and complete billing
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Successful candidates must pass a background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs
- Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA
- Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
- Comfortable working in a professional business environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates or Undergraduate Degree Preferred
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action
- Strong organizational skills
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability
