We have an exciting opportunity to build a new team to advance our User Experience for our internally built software.  The new User Experience Design System team is dedicated to driving consistency, efficiency and scalability across our operational applications.  This team will be responsible for collaborating with project teams to create a unified, reusable design system which provides a positive user experience, streamlines front end development and ensures consistent behavior across our applications.  To start, the team members will focus on the Deliver the exp.o Solutions initiative and the Customer Service Request epic. 

Over time, the vision for this team is that they will:

• Create and maintain a shared design system by defining best practices for usage, versioning, and updates.
• Establish a UI component library with a unified visual language and interaction model.
• Foster collaboration between design and development across product teams.
• Research, define, and curate which technology to use to meet the user experience and development requirements

The Developer-in-Test II is a key role on this team, responsible for the design and coding of solutions that enhance the user experience and increase efficiency of our mission critical, enterprise-scale business systems. Utilizing a thorough understanding of the logistics business domain, the Developer-in-Test supports the development team in the strategy, design, and implementation of automated tests to ensure the efficiency and quality of the deliverables. This role will collaborate within our technical team, non-technical product owners and end users.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent job related experience
• 3+ years of experience with object oriented programming
• 3+ years of experience in a technical quality assurance role
• Proficient at scripting in one or more languages
• An awareness of evolving technologies in use by the technology industry as a whole
• Proficient at working with databases, web application frameworks, and command line interfaces
• Demonstrated ability with Object-oriented design and coding skills (Java)
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop test automation frameworks from scratch
• Customer service-oriented attitude and top-notch time management

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Kafka, SQL, Docker or similar containerization tools
• Proficient in driving technical and process improvements
• Working knowledge of Java application development and Windows, UNIX, and Linux systems
• Working knowledge of common industry testing tools (Selenium, Webdriver, IntelliJ, Cucumber, Jmeter)
• Experience with cloud technology such as Azure
