Job Description

1.Conducts daily activities to assist the development of living skills consistent with the program participant's goals and objectives.

2. Plans and prepares a weekly schedule of activities providing living skills learning experiences according to ISP and IPP goals and objectives.

3. Provides assistance with personal care for participants which may include feeding, grooming and toileting.

4. Assists in participant assessments, planning and evaluation processes. Attends ISP/IPP meetings.

5. Assists participant in the development and implementation of his/her Service Plan.   Maintains all assigned documentation and data regarding program participants including BD/case notes.

6. May be required to transport program participants depending on program design and location

7. Other assignments that may need the employee's expertise, knowledge or ability.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to provide assistance with personal care to participants and the ability to transfer a program participant who has no weight bearing skills.

2. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repetitively. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to push wheel chairs, on. a variety of terrain.

3. Ability to obtain 'fingerprint clearance per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.

4. Ability to pass post-offer medical examination.

5. Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.

6. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.

7. Ability to travel locally. Appropriate vehicle for transportation of program participants, proof of valid California driver's license, clean driving record, proper auto insurance and vehicle registration, if program requires.

8. Ability to interpret and carry out written or oral instructions.

9. Ability to tolerate an outdoor work environment inclusive of a variety of weather conditions.

10. Minimum age requirement of eighteen.
