Job Description

Under general supervision, coordinate and implement and facilitate family development, community development, parent involvement and staff.  Provide comprehensive services to strengthen and support family relationships and provide links to community resources.  Coordinate, implement and facilitate health and nutrition services for Early Head Start.  Provide comprehensive services to strengthen and support family and staff health and provide links to community resources.

1.Oversee the completion and maintenance of up-to-date records for each enrolled family and assure compliance; complete assigned paperwork, tracking reports and data input in a timely master plan, develop and assure implementation of Early Head Start Family and Community Development policies and procedures and Easter Seals Southern California standards of conduct.

2. Coordinate appropriate referrals and parent meetings for family and community development services, involving parents from enrollment; coordinate the development of Family Partnership Agreements, beginning as soon as appropriate and continue over the period of enrollment in the program, updating every three months; Coordinates provision of resources information and/or referrals for families in the following areas; mental health, child care, substance abuse treatment, education, employment training, income support, transportations, pregnancy, health needs, safety, nutrition and other topics requested by family.

3. Coordinate and oversee the recruitment/enrollment process for expectant parents, infants, toddler's children and their families into Early Head Start.

4.Plan, develop and assure implementation of Health and Nutrition area services and plan and implement high quality and developmentally appropriate experiences for enrolled families in accordance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards, policies and procedures and Easter Seals Southern California standards of conduct.

5. Coordinate parent education and training and support for pregnant women, prenatal education, breast-feeding information and other health and nutrition resources.  Identify and incorporate resources into the program.  Support the active involvement of parents and community members on the Health Services Advisory Committee.

6. Insure required health and nutrition documentation is maintained utilizing a tracking system that ensures compliance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards and the USDA Child Care Food Program.  Prepare tracking and billing documentation for USDA Food Program.

Qualifications


1.    AADegree in social services, family development, mental health or similar fieldpreferred.

2.    Abilityto properly interpret and implement regulations, policies and procedures ofHead Start Performance Standard, policies and procedures, the CaliforniaDepartment of Education, Funding Terms and Conditions (Title 5), ChildDevelopment Division, the Department of Social Services, Community CareLicensing program regulations (Title 22), and the policies and procedures ofEaster Seals Southern California, Inc.

3.    Experienceworking with diverse families of very young children.

4.    PassFBI, Department of Justice and criminal background check.

5.    Presenta clear TB test and pass a post offer employment physical.

6.    Knowledgeof Microsoft Office and other related computer software.

7.    Abilityto communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and workcooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.  Must relate well to children and theirfamilies.

8.    Exercisesound judgment, plan, establish and meet timelines.

9.    Possessup-to-date pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR, first aid and food handlercertificate.
