With the simple and easy to use Pushpins application shoppers can:

 

· Build shopping list by searching or scanning over 200,000 grocery products

· Synchronize list with other family members or multiple devices with a single click

· Automatically match the best digital coupons and weekly specials to items on their shopping list

· Sort lists by aisle to help get in and out stores quickly and easily

· Access the full nutrition label and ingredients of over 150,000 products and see exactly what’s in their food

Job Description

At Pushpins we are building a revolutionary digital advertisement platform allowing users to save money on their retail purchases.

 

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be working on the backend systems that bridge the gap between online and offline commerce. Working closely with the development team, you can focus on delighting users with both large new features and daily small product enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, improve, and create new infrastructure for our internal and external facing APIs.
  • Integrate new retailers and content providers to allow for a seamless online to offline experience.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management.
  • Draft specifications, architect solutions, define timelines and problems to be solved.
  • Establish a ‘mission critical’ environment (and development environment) and advise on industry best practice.
  • Establish coding policies and practices for the company.
  • Recruiting and hiring qualified people as the team grows. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years object oriented programming experience (PHP preferred)
  • Experience with relevant development frameworks and architectures (MVC / LAMP)
  • Familiarity with cloud-architecture, Amazon Web Services preferred.
  • Familiarity with Objective C and Java (ability to read, understand and manage) a plus.
  • Versatile at learning new languages and flexible at adapting to new technologies.   
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required.
