Edison’s also features a 3,400 square foot laser tag arena, a state-of-the-art arcade, and five great party rooms for birthdays, business meetings, and more. Edison’s is not a chain; it is privately-owned and actively managed by the ownership. Edison’s is in it’s fifth successful year of operation and is located in the affluent community of Edwardsville, IL.

Job Description

This will be a fast-paced environment where your leadership will be necessary to succeed. We are looking for someone equally comfortable managing the kitchen and expo duties as well as handling front of house duties. Some days will be running FOH elements and some days it will be managing and leading in the kitchen. Cooking background is a plus. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Director and will work hand-in-hand with him to manage all aspects of the restaurant business. Edison’s handles over 1,000 parties and events each year and the food and beverage department is a key element of that delivery.

This position sets the standard for service expectations by scrutinizing every aspect of the guest's experience and personally intervenes to correct below-standard service issues. This position will be a key player in our TQM (total quality management) program ensuring quality at the back and front of house. Positive coaching and counseling staff is a big part of making it all work. Our managers demonstrate a “guest first” attitude with staff, demonstrate skill and care when selecting, scheduling, training, developing, mentoring, managing and leading the team. Bottom line: you need exceptional people skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Manage two to three key shifts a week on the floor and/or kitchen

- Work alongside the Food and Beverage Director on busiest days

- Assist the Food and Beverage Director with management tasks including hiring, training, coaching, and monitoring the development of the front-of-house and back-of-house employees

- Ensure all guests receive an exceptional and memorable experience

- Participate in weekly management and operations planning meetings

- Maintain an impeccable level of cleanliness and curbside appeal throughout the proper- 

- Work a 5 day work schedule of approx. 45 hours


Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in food and beverage management, management of staff, hospitality, and/or retail environment

- Ability to lift 35 lbs & stand/walk/bend for extended periods of time (5+)

- Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills

- A team mentality with exceptional personal skills will be needed

-  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary range $40,000 to $48,000, pay commensurate with experience
  • Full Health Benefits, Company currently pays 100% of premium
  • Bonus Program based on performance
  • 2 Weeks of paid vacation
