We have been in business for 30+ years in Stafford, TX (southwest Houston) with currently 120+ employees. Most of our employees in the Project Manager position have been with our company between 5 and 15 years. Our location is conveniently located directly off a major freeway for easy access. Our current, custom built facility consists of 19,500 square feet of office space, 9,200 square feet of Showroom, and 80,000 square feet of warehouse.
Job Description
We are looking to bring on a Project Manager to our team who will be responsible for handling all aspects of the assigned projects. The Project Manager will have oversight to managing midsize to large scale multifamily residential lighting projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects within the distribution industry and have experience working with developers, general contractors, and electrical contractors
- Ensure each assigned project has a completed draw schedule and our purchasing department has a copy of all pertinent material. Billing draw is the responsibility of the PM and they are to be aware of all draw dates assigned to each customer.
- Responsible for making initial site contact with the customer (i.e. Superintendent, PM) to find out timeframe for each project
- Make initial contact with the field to introduce himself/herself and make the field aware of all company procedures
- Stay in contact with the field in order to stay on top of all shipments and any delays in delivery
- Maintain contact with the on-site customer to make sure company is always aware of the status of the project.
- Inform the customer of company policies and procedures and make sure they follow said procedures and policies
- Responsible for any change orders for material added at any point during the course of the job
- Follow company policy and have signed paperwork for any changes
- Meet with the purchasing department weekly to keep them informed on each project
- Make sure all inventory purchases are made in a timely manner
- Maintain contact with the customer’s accounting department
- Keeps management abreast of issues affecting company operations and cause safety concerns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.A. in business or related field
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Project management experience (PMP preferred)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully with all levels of people within the organization and outside contacts.
