Skills needed:
• Strong SW/HW debug skills and Strong Linux background. Demonstrate fluency in at Least one shell tcsh, bash, etc. scripting Language.
• Ability to assemble standard PC systems from raw components. Responsible for system assembly, bring up, and debug. Be able to install and configure hardware and software in systems. Managing enhancements/upgrades and providing Various Levels of support.
• Must be able to perform firmware flashing (Bios, Hardware upgrades).
• Performing general server administration tasks, monitoring and optimizing system performance and reliability, root causing and debug lab system operations, operational workflow development. Also familiar with network interface card installation, switches, routers and similar components, running network cables, installing servers in equipment racks, and operation and configuration of networking protocols. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and offer effective solutions under tight deadlines.
• Must be capable of Lifting 1U and 2U rack mounted servers up to 40 pounds and familiar with the use of Rack Jacks and general data center safety procedures Follow written and/or Verbal instructions for custom operating system and application installs.
• Familiar with System validation methodologies and concepts. Replication of customer/Engineer reported HSD bugs. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions is a must. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse team.
• Ability to work after hours support on a rotating schedule.
