Eurofins is currently recruiting for a full time Laboratory Operations Scientist based at our PSS site in Wirral, UK.

This position is to join our innovative Professional Scientific Services (PSS) programme as an employee of Eurofins. The programme places full-time analysts, technicians, scientists and technical support personnel managed by Eurofins directly at the client facility to provide long term staffing needs while maintaining the same services, expertise and cGMP compliance available at the Eurofins facility. Job Description

The scope of this role is associated with assuring all equipment calibration and service documentation has been completed compliantly ensuring the equipment is fit for usage in a GMP environment.

  • Utilising the client’s automated systems to ensure the equipment maintenance, qualifications are completed.
  • Support implementation of new equipment introduction on site and life cycle management.
  • Support documentation compliance for GxP and non-GxP equipment breakdown.
  • Supporting an interface role with external service engineers from third party companies during repairs, maintenance and qualification steps.
  • Supporting ordering of consumables to maintain operational effectiveness of the area.
  •  Interface with facilities to support logistics for equipment operation.

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Life Sciences or related field or equivalent qualification. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in metrology, as a user of GMP instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, GC, LC/MS, KF) and data review of calibration data and service reports.
  • Experience of supporting lab operations

Additional Information

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GMP
  • Experience in the use of Chromatographic Data System – ideally Empower software for chromatography systems for HPLC, GC and data review
  • Experience of Electronic Laboratory Notebooks preferable
  • Knowledge/experience of quality technical report writing skills
  • Competent Use of Software systems in XL, Word, Powerpoint
  • Ideally experienced in utilising a Ariba purchasing system including troubleshooting skills
  • Previous experience of supporting compliance and integrity of quality systems to maintain GMP and any associated remedial activities.
  • Familiarity with supporting the introduction of new equipment / technology via documentation processes would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and compliance whilst meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to form strong working relationships with colleagues driving collaboration.
