Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determining the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspect of the company.
- To assist the Lab Manager / Senior Chemist in all aspects of work in the respective section.
- To carry out testing on all aspects of work and calibration of equipment in the respective section when necessary.
- Assist in or perform reagent preparation and standardization of standard solutions.
- Perform result entry, QC checks, inventory maintenance, basic equipment calibration & maintenance.
- Maintain of all equipment and testing records in the respective section.
- General laboratory work like housekeeping, sample receipt and registration, preparation of sample bottles and helping to maintain cleanliness of laboratory, equipment and apparatus.
- To highlight abnormalities and discrepancies in the testing, calibration and results.
- Perform the duties of a Quality Officer for the section.
- When necessary, updating of test methods and working instructions under supervision.
Qualifications
Job Requirement:
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Chemistry, Science or equivalent
- Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
- May work with potentially hazardous materials.
- Overtime and weekend work as required.
- Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working within a laboratory hood and standing at a bench top.
- Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Entry level are welcome.
