Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced and energetic professional to join our growing team. The SVP of IT will oversee all aspects of EI's global information technology and systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing global IT initiatives and serve as a member of the Executive Management Team. This will be accomplished by directing, planning and implementing enterprise IT systems and web applications to support global operations and drive innovation, competitive advantage, customer experience and service quality/business support in a cost effective manner. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes as a member of the Executive Management Team
  • Lead strategic and operational planning of IT to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the organisation to ensure flexible, effective systems able to scale to future demands driven by the company’s growth
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define requirements and then develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spend initiatives; review formulation of project definitions, showing objectives, IT system requirements and analytical and programming personnel requirements
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organisational structure that supports the needs of the business
  • Establish IT functional goals, objectives and operating procedures; drive continuous improvement of the IT staff, equipment and procedures to maintain pace with technological progress, economic change and business needs.
  • Establish and continuously deliver IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT system performance
  • Act as an advocate of the company’s IT vision and communicate with the management and functional heads and end users
  • Identify opportunities for appropriate and cost effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, covering staff, sourcing, purchasing and in-house development
  • Develop, track and control the IT annual operating and capex budgets, tightly managing expenditure. Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale
  • Regularly assess control environments and communicate risks associated with IT developments
  • Implement and further develop and execute enterprise wide disaster recovery and continuity plan


  • 10 years minimum experience managing and/or directing an IT operation including demonstrable experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Global IT management experience 
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/computer science related field
  • A real and genuine enthusiasm for people and delivering, customer excellence and high performance
  • Ability to motivate, manage change and engage at all levels on a global basis
  • Innovative, insightful and dynamic
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail and execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willing to travel to EMEA, Americas and Asia Pac
