Job Description

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive technical excellence across the team, ensuring best practices in architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, QA, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Ensure high test coverage and adherence to TDD principles across the codebase.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure the team is aligned with sprint goals and priorities.
  • Advocate for and implement improvements in development tools, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Support career development through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and goal setting.
  • Work effectively with business and engineering partners across multiple time zones, including US Eastern

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in full-stack web development, especially with Ruby on Rails and React
  • Deep understanding of the Rails framework, MVC architecture, and the Ruby ecosystem
  • Proficiency with Ruby gems, bundler, and dependency management
  • Experience with Rails testing frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest
  • Experience with Git in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, and AWS services
  • Strong understanding of AWS security standards including IAM, Security Groups, KMS, and Secrets Manager
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex projects
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Empathy and a team-first mindset, with a passion for mentoring and growing engineers
  • Commitment to high-quality software development practices, including TDD and CI/CD
  • Must be based in Hyderabad and available to work from the office 2–3 days per week
  • You will report to a Director

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong SQL skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
  • Several years of hands-on Ruby on Rails and React experience
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
