Job Description

The Findaway Web Development Team focuses on building solid, scalable, responsive websites and web applications. We’re a small team that produces big work for multiple brands and product lines within Findaway. As a member of the Web Development Team, you’ll be building internal and external-facing sites: static marketing websites for products, landing pages for promotions, internal tools, managing multiple e-commerce sites, and also helping to maintain the Javascript SDK for our AudioEngine API, which serves millions of hours of audiobooks.

Our ideal candidate has a passion for web development and isn’t afraid to show it. They will be interested in honing their craft, and staying on top of new services, methodologies, and tools by constantly reading developer news, listening to podcasts, and attending (or even speaking) at local developer meetups. We love to see contributions to open-source projects, and nice GitHub and CodePen profiles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or a very strong portfolio
  • 3+ years of front-end development experience
  • Must be intimately familiar with HTML and CSS (we use SCSS)
  • You must love Javascript, and have experience with one of the following frameworks/libraries: React (preferred), Vue, Angular, Ember, Backbone
  • You have a portfolio with multiple responsive websites
  • Experience building web applications that consume and manipulate data through a RESTful API
  • Familiarity with Python is also a plus, but not required (we’ve written and manage a few internal tools in Python)

Additional Information

As a team, we’re interested in producing the best work we can. That’s why we rely heavily on collaboration and the best tools out there. We want a teammate who will push us to do better work, challenge the way we do things, and harness the power of the web to not only make pretty websites, but also to change the way our business works with new tools and workflows.

We use a lot of tools to help us get our work done better and more efficiently. Our team regularly uses Git and GitHub, SCSS, Webpack, Gulp, npm scripts, Bower, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack. Know a tool that should be on this list? Let us know (and tell us why) for extra bonus points.
