Our client is an internationally known evangelical Christian broadcasting ministry located near Atlantic Station.

The Accountant / Bookkeeper will be primarily responsible for accounts payable as well as a variety of duties with general ledger analysis and adjustments, accounts receivable transaction processing, capital asset tracking and depreciation, intercompany and foreign transactions, as well as other accounting and financial-related responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor, contractor and media invoices on a weekly basis for multiple entities that are paid by check or wire transfer.
  
• Perform significant analyses and tracking of financial data and budgets using Microsoft Excel.
  
• Prepare invoices, process cash receipts, and monitor accounts receivable balances.
  
• Analysis of balance sheet and expense accounts.
  
• Prepare adjusting journal entries.
  
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
  
• Prepare and make bank deposits.
  
• Preparation, submission and payment of quarterly Georgia sales tax returns.
  
• Prepare annual Form 1099 mailings to vendors and IRS.
  
• Maintain accounting procedure documentation, templates, and forms.
  
• Assist with annual audits.
  
• Assist Director of Finance with monthly budget tracking and analysis as well as other tasks.

• Four-year college degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Accounting coursework necessary or proof of understanding of accrual basis bookkeeping.
• One to four years of experience with accounts payable and the general ledger.
  
• Possesses the personal qualities of integrity; highest level of attention to detail; ability to manage and organize multiple projects, tasks, priorities and deadlines; excellent problem solving skills; and ability to handle a high volume of transaction processing in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
• Must work well with others in a friendly and encouraging teamwork atmosphere with a drive to achieve personal and organizational success through personal performance excellence and a servant mindset toward others.
• Especially strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
• Prior experience with accounting database programs is preferred.
