Job Purpose: 

Finance, Accounts, Budget Control

Job Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this role will be the company accounting and the follow-up of the Budget
including the reporting associated. This includes to interface with the company's entities related to finance aspects and local auditors.


The position will also cover but is not limited to the following responsibilities/tasks/duties:

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Record all Cash Transactions as they occur daily, documenting support
  • Record Monthly Payroll Entries, documenting support
  • Prepare and send monthly bill to Projects
  • Reconcile Payroll Tax Accounts to Payroll Summaries Monthly
  • Analyze and Agree Intercompany Transactions with Accountants in Assigned Regions
  • Analyze Assigned Balance Sheet Accounts
  • Complete Month End Bank/ Cash Close Process
  • Reconcile all Bank Accounts for Month End Close
  • Prepare and Document Support for Journal Entries
  • Special Projects as requested

Finance & Budget Control Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing activities management related to the Office requirements
  • Service Providers Contract Management related to the office needs
  • Wire Transfer Request management
  • Certificate of capital importation follow-up
  • Master the Insurance Policies
  • Prepare Monthly financial reports
  • Prepare Financial Statements quaterly in NASB (needed annually by law but quaterly for Solutions Accounting)
  • Control of company budget using the company's in-house software
  • Prepare Schedules for Annual Audit 
  • Full Liaison and Managing relationship with Auditors
  • Liaise with Ministry for Payment of/Exception from Excise Duties
  • Build and maintain relationship with bank
  • Supporting the Country Manager in investigating the Investment capabilities in Nigeria
  • Register Contributions/Investments with appropriate Government Authority

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting or any Social sciences discipline is required, Master’s degree will be an added advantage

Experience

  • Must have of a minimum of 7 years experience in Nigerian accounting and finance activities
  • Must have knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
  • Must have knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
  • Must have knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Must have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Must be have an excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PP and Outlook
  • Must have an understanding and awareness of tax regimes/issues (VAT Calculations, Withholding Taxes, PAYE etc.)
  • Must have experience in an international environment
