Our client is a leading oil and gas servicing firm in Nigeria. They have been able to deliver quality service to both international and indigenous oil companies. They are currently sourcing for an Internal Control Auditor to help them increase the quality of their accounting process.

Job Summary

The purpose of the role is to ensure that best accounting practice is implemented within the organization; this is to ensure that financial reports are accurate and precise. The preferred candidate would use auditing techniques to put controls in place to ensure that financial risk is minimized.

 

 

Job Description

  • Evaluate and provide reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the company’s objectives and goals to be met.
  • Report risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified to Management
  • Provide recommendations for improving the company’s operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance for such control deficiencies identified
  • Evaluate information security and associated risk exposures
  • Evaluate regulatory compliance program with consultation from legal counsel
  • Evaluate the company’s readiness in case of business interruption
  • Maintain open communication with management and the audit committee
  • Team with other internal and external resources as appropriate
  • Provide support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
  • Examine company’s accounts
  • Collect and interpret financial data
  • Identify any problem or risk to the business and implement controls to minimize risk
  • Assess the company's financial reporting systems
  • Make recommendations for improvements
  • Match expenses to Budget
  • Prepare Internal Audit reports

Qualifications


Candidate should  

  • Be Bsc/HND Holder
  • Be a chartered accountant registered with the ACCA OR ICAN. 
  • Show excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills,
  • Be committed, energetic and enthusiastic team players
  • Be able to prepare reports and proposals in timely, consolidated and consistent manner.
  • Have Knowledge of Accounting Package, e.g Peachtree, Quick Book
  • Candidate must have knowledge of IFRS(International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • Have 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role
