Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Manage safe and cost effective operation of the Roller Mill and Commodity handling to include: safety, production, maintenance, preparation of annual budget, determination of capital needs, raw material supply and environmental compliance. Manage FDA and CDFA compliance for the site. Oversee records and SOPs required for all plant and trucking functions. Manage truck drivers and all accompanying policies and regulations to ensure safe and cost effective transportation rolled corn and bulk commodities. Manage train and rail car logistics for the facility as it pertains to unloading cars and meeting railroad deadlines and incentives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manage the Facility to insure the following: Safe, efficient, and economical transloading/storage of bulk commodities and production of rolled corn. Ensure plant is ready for customer inspection at all times. Compliance with Department, Division, and Corporate policies and procedures. Compliance with company and government safety regulations. Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet current and long range production demands. Ensure plant equipment is adequate to meet current and long term demands; this includes replacement plans and modifications to the plant. Plan, request, and implement Capital Projects as needed for current and long-term demands. Maintain adequate inventory of raw material for the facility. Monitor rail car movements and plan for unit train and rail car unloading to maximize incentives and minimize demurrage.

Manage facility trucking. Ensure all trucks are used to maximize efficiency. Develop and maintain plant SOPs for drivers. Provide/oversee training of new drivers. Document training. Review and supervise the daily dispatch to ensure trucks are used efficiently and monitor drivers hours and compliance with division and company guidelines.

Manage accounting and purchasing functions of the plan: Oversee inventory and silo/storage rotation to minimize shrink. Quantify and control plant shrink. Verify production transactions are correct and timely. Ensure production variances are researched and explained. Approve purchase requisitions.

Manage EHS compliance including: Oversee plant safety meetings and audits. Oversee compliance of air board requirements in regards to particulate emissions on dust control measures for the facility. Oversee plant safety program to ensure that all company, EPA, and OSHA requirements are met.

Manage facility maintenance program: Create and maintain facility pm program. Assign and monitor progress on maintenance work orders. Manage parts ordering and back up parts inventory.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in all phases of Operations, Maintenance, and Production.

Preferred BS/BA is Business Management or related field.

Working knowledge of heavy equipment.

Good interpersonal and communication skills required.

Ability to forecast and respond to variables, including: production fluctuations and sales demand.

Ability to respond and thrive in a frequently changing and fast paced work environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office. SAP experience helpful.
