Job Description

Purpose of position:  TEMPORARY POSITION

To supervise, analyze, guide and control all aspects of hatchery production to produce the highest quality chick at the lowest possible cost.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for hatch, chick quality, productivity, safety and cost. Responsibilities include; supervising production and quality, establishing and maintaining labor efficiencies and the safety training of employees.

Development of training programs for employees.

Evaluation of employee performance and recruitment.

Establish and execute hatchery programs, procedures and safety standards for sanitation, equipment operations and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

Minimum:

 BA/BS degree or 2+ years’ of work experience managing people in a production environment.      

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Aptitude to troubleshoot technical problems with automation equipment.

 Must be able to adhere to Foster Farms disease control policies.

 Preferred:

 BS degree in poultry science, engineering or business.

 One year experience managing continuous process improvement projects.

 Bilingual English/Spanish

 Physical Requirements:

 Consistent and reliable attendance.

 Ability to obtain a CA drivers’ license.

 Ability to work weekends and night shifts.
