Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Senior Marketing Manager is charged with the commercialization and launch of new products and the identification and implementation of growth opportunitites within the existing ready to cook chicken and turkey categories.   Responsible for the development of launch plans inclusive of marketing support, pricing strategies, and distribution objectives.This position will manage innovation projects at development stage through 6 months post launch. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Create and implement plan to deliver revenue growth target and desired margins for ready to cook chicken and turkey growth goals. 

Develop and implement innovative marketing initiatives includinding but not limited to the following:

  • New packaging formats 
  • Technology innovations
  • New Channels
  • New shelving solutions
  • Licensing opportunities/Brand partnerships

Lead problem solving to work through supply, capacity and resource constraints.

Analyze opportunities, P&L & IRI share data related to new opportunities and communicate status and initiatives to Senior Management.

Actively participate in meetings and negotiate across all levels of the organization to achieve business results.

Qualifications

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree and MBA.

12+ years of consumer marketing experience in the consumer packaged goods arena with solid experience in innovation and successful product launches. 

Experience in center of the plate protein.

Strong financial and analytical skills. Ability to understand ramifications of business unit decisions to other components of the company.

P&L understanding with strong quantitative analysis skills to make “fact-based” strategic recommendations and decisions.

Demonstrated ability to identify business issues and develop successful programs to grow the brand profitably.

Strong computer skills. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Must have proficiency in analyzing data. Above average presentation skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing

8+ years consumer marketing experience

5 + years experience in innovation. 

Ability to move up or cross functionally within the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel overnight 10% of the time. 

Ability to obtain valid CA Drivers License & obtain reliable transportation for business travel.

Consistent and reliable attendance.

Must be able to sit during work for at least 70% of the time when not traveling.

Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations
