Job Description

Purpose of position:

Support the development and execution of an innovation pipeline. Manage projects from idea through successful hand-off to base brands for launch. Ideal person for this position has strong creative abilities, ability to manage detailed projects through a cross-functional stage gate, financial analysis skills, and a passion for solving problems and overcoming roadblocks.

Essential Functions:

Support innovation strategy by participating in the development of objectives and strategies for new products. Through collaboration with executive team and Director of Innovation, this role is responsible for development of innovation budgets, goals and 5-year plans. 

Define initiatives and mange through development process by identifying specific product opportunities, providing guidance to R & D, collaborating with operations to identify and address issues and define investments required to bring products to market.

Key stakeholder in stage gate management and cross-functional team communications. Manage projects through development phase, oversee stage gate process, documentation deliverable and timetables.

Conduct competitive and category analysis by utilizing consumer insights and competitive intelligence to evaluate industry and market trends. Research new markets to define unmet needs and validate ideas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field.                                                                                                             

10 years of demonstrated analytical and marketing experience.                                                                

5  years of successfully managing new product innovation in CPG. 

Strong grasp of CPG and brand management fundamentals. 

Excellent presentation skills with both large and small audiences. 

Demonstrated ability to understand ramifications of business unit decision to other components of the company.  

Highly proficient at managing complex projects.  

Proven track record of success with increasing levels of responsibility. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office, syndicated Data Tools, ERP Software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing

MBA

7+ year track record of increasing responsibility in like business or product line.

Ability to move up or cross functionally within the organization.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel during the week and occasional weekends.

Ability to obtain valid CA drivers license & obtain reliable transportation for business travel.

Consistent and reliable attendance.

Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations.
