Job Description

  • Provide H.R support to management and hourly employees in maintaining employee records, documentation and submission of documents for processing. Complete LOA paperwork for employees and explain their rights and responsibilities. Be a resource to employees regarding questions: leave of absences, payroll, benefits, etc. Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department Management staff.
  • Barcode and scan all documents pertaining to union and non-union employee records at Livingston facilities. Records include but not limited to Personnel Action Forms, Requisitions, Leaves of Absences, New Hire packets, excuse notes, disciplinary actions, EDD documents, verification evaluations/appraisals, term documents and misc.documents. Ensure they were received by Central HR and applied to employee’s record. 

  • Audit previously scanned documents in Lawson and ensure they are linked to the appropriate employee with the correct information.  

  • Assist Livingston facility union and non-union employees in regards to their personnel documents, Leaves of Absences, payroll checks, credit union checks, badges, benefits/insurance inquiries and payments, address questions and/or concerns.

  • Act as a back-up to coordinate the commencement/transfer of hourly, union employees to vacant production and premium positions by determining seniority/eligibility of employees on transfer log and bid sheets. Award positions and notify supervision of successful candidates and/or requirements, as well as maintaining respective documentation.  Monitor transfer time and ensure that employees are transferred and paid correctly.

  • Act as back-up to plan, schedule, and organize service award ceremonies for all union and non-union employees under the Livingston HR area. Tasks include but are not limited to presentations, ordering awards, ordering food/supplies, and preparing HR management for presentation. Send out invitations to all pertinent parties in timely manner for event.

  • Generate he ‘What’s New’ Newsletter along with other mass communications to employees. maintain bulletin boards at e HR office and Security entrance.

  • Provide administrative support to VP of Labor Relations, Employment/Admin Services gr, Labor Relations Manager & H.R. Supervisors (i.e. weekly reports, outgoing calls, assisting with special projects, etc.)



Qualifications

  • High school graduate (AA or BS degree preferred) or equivalent HR experience

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability o work well independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Computer iterate in Windows environment and proficient in Microsoft Applications with
    intermediate excel skills.

  • Bi-lingual referred (English/Spanish and/or English/Punjabi)

  • Ability o work in a fast paced environment which requires multi-tasking

  • Must e able to communicate effectively in English (which includes reading & writing)

  • Experience with Lawson/HRIS application preferred
