Job Description

Purpose of position:
To provide analytical support to the Pricing and AR function by evaluating and supporting improvement opportunities as well as helping to drive change throughout the Pricing and AR landscape. This position will also have operational responsibilities in order to build train the broader base of Pricing and AR support team. This position will be the subject matter expert for the company’s pricing and discounts & allowances processes and will take the lead to identify, report, and drive solutions to system issues and shortcomings. Responsible for coaching and developing team members, and encouraging/promoting an atmosphere of continuous improvement. Provides leadership for departmental and cross-functional teams.

This position has a direct impact to the bottom line financials. The person in this role provides value by applying research, analysis, and understanding of the industry to influence and drive achievement of corporate objectives. The person in this role ensures the accuracy and integrity of the company’s pricing and promotional programs. Makes sure customer invoices are accurately priced and promotional programs are appropriately accrued for. Reviews and approves disbursements against promotional programs and ensures deal/promotional balances are accurately reported.

Essential Job Functions:

Ensures reconciliation and research of company’s total Deal System (D&A) to the General Ledger. Develops enhancements, performs and verifies reconciliations and controls to ensure the propriety, accuracy and integrity as it relates to pricing and AR, as well as reporting. 

Maintain and coordinate all activities relating to updating, distributing and verifying company’s pricing. Act as an integration point between pricing and the business teams. Develop strong trust-infused relationships with the business team by compiling persuasive arguments and financial decision support to help guide pricing and promotional related decisions and strategies. Ensures compliance with pricing guidelines. Understands the critical pieces of data needed to successfully complete pricing. Point of contact throughout the pricing process and responsible for overall supervision of all pricing staff and functions.

Oversees the setup of brokerage agreements, and commission payments. Maintain and coordinate all activities relating to Retail/Foodservice promotional programs including, analyze and track new promotional programs, determining and approving program disbursements, determining and calculating ineligible pounds, producing and developing program reporting and ensuring divisions, promotional policies are preserved

Actively participates in the testing and implementation of initiatives and enhancements to any Pricing and AR related systems. Handles assigned projects independently or leads group effort. Provide value by applying research, analysis, and understanding of the industry to influence and drive achievement of corporate objectives. Gathers information and keeps abreast of shifting trends in Pricing & AR process and systems. Understands how the various systems function and tie together. Creates and generates reports that drive best practices for the department and supports the company’s needs, and that identify areas of financial opportunity and drive improvement. 

Executes pricing and deal related complex analysis (ad hoc BW reporting) to support key decision makers (high-level management, sales and marketing) within the organization. Manage, and keep current our pricing analysis for all new and existing products. Reviews and communicates sales order/pricing discrepancies. Supports customer service/product management, marketing, salespeople, credit, IT and brokers by responding to pricing and/or complicated promotional related requests/issues in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance 

Three-four years of accounting/finance experience 

Strong System Skills (SAP, Advanced Excel, Word,) to include query and report writing

Sound mathematical, analytical / problem-solving skills

Able to effectively communicate findings from complex analysis in clear, concise manner to cross-functional partners and members of Pricing and AR team

Ability to develop collaborative partnerships across multiple functions to achieve desired outcomes

Excellent organizational skills and very detailed oriented

Demonstrates history of establishing objectives, tasks, responsibilities and timelines for completion of projects to deliver desired business results

Self-motivated and directed; ability to work under pressure in fast paced, deadline oriented environment and have excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to grasp complex or ambiguous problems and provide a structured approach to solving them

Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Requirements:
Prior experience with pricing, deal spend, sales and marketing roles

Three-four years of supervisory experience 

Financial and P&L knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to have consistent attendance.
Must be able to sit for long periods
Must be able to work on the computer for long periods of time
