Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide maintain facility security controls to protect employees, processing plant, all company property and assets from violations of federal, state and company rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise all security officers in Livingston and Turlock facilities (including, leads, and Security Officers). Address all attendance issues (including daily KRONOS), as well, as job performance issues. Ensure appropriate scheduling.
Regular contact with HR regarding security staff, performance development/management, hire and discharge.
Proactively initiate new programs or training as needed for security officers
Oversee and participate in plant emergency response team, facility alarm programs and other facility specific special projects.
Assist HR with personnel investigations including “Fitness for Duty”, “reasonable Suspicion” and Violence Free work place
Implement all Security directives or instructions
Keep records, investigate crimes, accidents, and Foster Farms incident reports
Additional Functions:
Special projects or assignments as specified
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent supervisor experience required. Experience in Law Enforcement, Fire Department, Security or Military preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively direct and supervise a large team of security guards on varying shifts and locations. Direct supervisory experience. Ability to supervise staff, including assigning work and providing training. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance
Ability to demonstrate strong dynamic leadership, effectively deal with others in difficult and stressful situations
Knowledge of security operations and procedures with the ability to create, modify and effectively implement new programs and procedures. Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls
Effective communicator with all levels with the organization. Must be able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal). Must be able to read/write with proficiency. Ability to write routine correspondences, including logs and reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while accomplishing multiple duties and projects. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Strong customer service and results orientation
Ability to work in both individual and team settings with minimal supervision. Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnishing in written, oral, or diagrammed form
Display high integrity and ethics, exceptional sense of judgment and confidentiality with the ability to make decisions under stressful conditions. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
Ability to accept direction and responsibility. Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organizations
Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to show up to work daily and be on time to perform the duties of the position.
Have a reliable means of transportation, routine use of a personal vehicle is required in the performance of duties. Have a reliable means of communication.
Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time (8-12 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor.
Possess a valid State driver’s license (issued by a state in the United States of America) and good driving record.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Proprietary Security Officer License or comply with other State legal requirements (dependent upon the State where employed) for a licensed Security Officer or equivalent. Ability to pass a drug screen
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers. Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications, or authorizations specified for the assigned site
