Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To provide support for the Manufacturing Systems. This includes design, specification, configuration, development, analysis, customization, testing, documenting, training, delivery, reporting and support of software and hardware solutions relating to the master data, configuration, customization, reporting and transactions associated with these processes and applications, across all Foster Farms locations; including a [limited/low/moderate] level of knowledge of related content for additional SAP software components installed at Foster Farms. [Higher job levels will be responsible for providing technical guidance of and assistance to other programmer/analysts and associate programmer analysts.]

Manufacturing Systems refers to one or more of the following:

· SAP MII-AMX shop floor execution system

· Corporate/Plant Data Historians such as OSI PI and/or Wonderware

· SAP MII Quality Management (QM)

· SAP ECC QM

· SAP Plant Maintenance (PM)

· SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

· SAP Document Management System (DMS)

· Other systems utilized in the support of manufacturing

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Will provide design and implementation support for the ongoing Manufacturing Systems implementation and rollout projects. This may include requirement collection, solution design and concept writing as well as performing heavy development and customizing activities within one or more of the Manufacturing Systems

Will provide primary end user support for the Manufacturing Systems. This includes:

Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of end user problems.

Performing routine system maintenance checks and corrective actions such as maintaining, adjusting, recommending changes to, and manipulating configuration, master data and system interfaces.

Contribute to ongoing system improvement efforts to include:

Collecting requirements from business users, researching available solutions, developing and documenting conceptual design alternatives

Communicate effective conceptual designs, writing technical specifications, performing development work and/or coordinating development work with more senior analysts and/or programming staff, building and configuring prototypes and prototype documentation.

Communicate with and educate business users, conduct unit testing and coordinate integration and user acceptance testing.

Work with security team to ensure appropriate system authorization, migrating to production.

Prepare comprehensive and thorough design and training documentation, train subject matter experts, provide post-implementation support efforts.

Will interact regularly with end users, engaging in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues, and providing continuous improvements to all aspects of design and processes.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information System / Computer Information Systems or related field.

Must be capable of working to a structured work plan with aggressive milestones and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making ability

Must be highly goal and results oriented.

Must be highly self-motivated and driven – must be capable and willing to learn complex systems with minimal supervision.

Experience with developing business requirements.

Experience learning and documenting complex business processes.

Project experience is beneficial.

Must be able to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team members, both written and verbal.

Excellent technical skills (e.g. SAP, MS Office suite, MS Project, programming, etc.).

This position will require possession or development of specific skills, knowledge and experience with the SAP system including experience with the modules / areas most aligned with manufacturing including PP, PP-PI, MM (inventory management), batch management, CO, QM, PM, PLM.

This position will require possession or development of specific development skills, knowledge and experience with SAP ECC integration (BAPI, RFC, and IDoc), SAP MII, MS SQL, and web development (HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, JQuery).

Familiarity with SAP and non-SAP Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, or Product Lifecycle Management Systems, processes, and document flow are beneficial.

Basic understanding of the SAP system’s roles, interfaces and standard content.

Associate Programmer ANALYST REQUIREMENTS:

Meets minimum requirements and the following.

Familiarity with business process reengineering, six sigma, lean manufacturing, etc. is strongly desired.

Experience learning and documenting complex business processes.

Basic understanding of the SAP systems’ roles and interfaces preferred.

Project experience.

Understanding of how to interview end users for insight on functionality, problems, or usability issues and needs.

Understanding of relational database (e.g. SQL Server and/or Oracle).

Understanding of HTML, XML, ETL concepts and other B2B communication techniques and standards.

Programming experience using C, C++, C++.Net, Pro*C, Visual Basic (VB), VB.NET, Java, PL/SQL, Socket Programming, Shell Scripts, or Perl preferred.

Understanding of software development lifecycle phases and activities, and project management principles

Ability to move up within the organization.

1 - 2 years of IT experience working in a manufacturing organization for a $1+ billion organization

Exposure to and familiarity with consumer products industry strongly preferred.

Programmer ANALYST I REQUIREMENTS:

Meets requirements of lower level in addition to the following:

Minimum 3-5 years experience in Systems Development, developing moderately complex IT solutions to improve business processes.

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in software analysis, design, development, configuration and programming including experience using one or more of SAP ABAP, SAP MII, C, C++, Visual Basic (VB), Java, VB.NET, PL/SQL, web development (HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, JQuery), or Perl.

Basic knowledge of SAP ECC – including CO, PP-PI, MM, QM, PM, PLM.

Understanding of HTML, XML, ETL concepts and other B2B communication techniques and standards.

Programmer ANALYST II REQUIREMENTS:

Meets requirements of lower level(s) in addition to the following:

Minimum 3-7 years experience in Systems Development, developing moderately complex IT solutions to improve business processes.

Minimum of 3-7 years of progressive responsibility in software analysis, design, development, configuration and programming including experience using one or more of SAP ABAP, SAP MII, C, C++, Visual Basic (VB), Java, VB.NET, PL/SQL, web development (HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, JQuery), or Perl.

Experience in developing complex Manufacturing Systems solutions, particularly in SAP and SAP MII.

Ability to perform moderately complex MII and web development, including capability to design and various customizing techniques, with little direction.

Understanding of software development lifecycle phases and activities, and project management principles.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with members of other IT and business teams, both written and verbal.

Thorough understanding of developing and completing test cases and test scenarios.

Demonstrated ability to prepare technical and user documentation for projects and enhancements.

Demonstrated capability to work to a structured work plan with aggressive milestones and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making ability.

Self-motivated and directed.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree.

IT experience working in a manufacturing organization for a $1+ billion organization.

Broad consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, MS SQL, and OSI PI Data Historian desired.
