Job Description

Rate: $16.50-$18.25

Specialized security unit assigned the responsibility for providing security and protection for FOSTER FARMS family members. Provide security patrol for assigned locations. Protect the assets and employees of FOSTER FARMS. Provide security for FOSTER FARMS board meetings and special functions.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:     

Perform vehicle/foot patrol of Foster Farms family residences  

Provide security of Foster Farms family and executive meetings                            

Respond to alarms                                                                                                               

Provide patrol protection for assigned Dairies

Maintain records, write reports, and fill out patrol logs

Qualifications

requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Prefer experience in Law Enforcement, Security or Military.

Must be able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal). Must be able to read and write with proficiency.

Ability to accept direction and responsibility.

Capable of making decisions under potentially tense conditions.

Must have good interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Must have an overall favorable employment record and attendance record.

Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

Must be able to show up to work daily and be on-time to perform the duties of the position.

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 12 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor.

Must be able to walk for prolonged periods of time on concrete/pavement.

Good eyesight (corrected).

Possess a valid State driver’s license (issued by a state in the United States of America) and good driving record.

Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain an Armed Security Officer License in California.

Must be able to obtain a license to weight trucks and/or perform scale and weight requirements for inbound/outbound loads.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Have a reliable means of communication

Have reliable means of transportation

Will be required to maintain a California Drivers License in good standing and current. The position will be a mobile patrol driving 8-10 hours per shift.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers

Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications, or authorizations specified for the assignee site

Knowledge of security operations and procedures

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures

Ability to supervise staff, including assigning work and providing training

Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance

Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls

Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnishing in written, oral, or diagrammed form

Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments including the issuing of breaks and lunches

 Ability to be an effective team member

 Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances

Courteous telephone manner

Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organizations

Ability to write routine correspondences, including logs and reports

. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to interface effectively with clients, at various social levels and across diverse culture

Possess a California Concealed Weapons (CCW) permit or be able to obtain one within (6) months of employment

Must within 6 months possess and carry both the California guard registration card and exposed firearm permit, issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.

Complete any assignment or duty as designated by the Corporate Security Manager.

All persons employed or associated with Foster Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products.

Security Officers are responsible for ensuring that all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed on a consistent basis by regular bag inspections of all employees entering the plant.

Due to the mobile nature of this position Biological Security is a priority of Ranch’s and other facilities. Care must be taken to protect the Poultry and other live stock from Biological Contamination. The order facilities are patrolled, vehicle and personal cleanliness, routes utilized are among considerations required for Biological Security.

Manage reports and legally required documentation.

Enter reports and alarm completion into Data Base’s

Understand Alarm systems for reset and acknowledgement

Placement and operation of Security Related Camera’s.

To perform any other duties as required.

 Frequent lifting and/or moving up to ten pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving up to twenty-five pounds, and additional lifting and/or moving ability might be required

Ability to operate a company owned vehicle for the performance of duties

On occasion may be required to perform stressful and physical activities

Depending upon your assignment, you may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in different types of environments depending upon duties
