Job Description

  • Provide oversight, direction and facilitate projects for the Waste Water Treatment
    System for the Livingston Plant through the following means:
  • Provide supervision to Waste Water Treatment operators, Boiler mechanics, DAF mechanics; making independent judgments and decisions involving daily plant operations regarding waste water, water conservation and reclamation processes.
  • Provide oversight for the operations of valves and gates; pumps, engines, and electric motors to control and adjust flow and treatment processes. Monitor sludge and effluent ponds as required.
  • Evaluate and monitor operational data to plot operational trends and make decisions regarding system design and modifications based on the data including water usage trends, maintenance needed to
    address usage, conservation and reclamation.
  • Manage the collection of water samples throughout the facility and ensure laboratory tests are performed routinely; evaluate the data provided to ensure compliance with waste water and reclamation
    systems.
  • Responsible for overseeing the fire suppression system for the Livingston facilities by responding to alarms, ensuring proper maintenance of risers, sprinklers, hydrants. Having regular contact with certified vendors to ensure these devices are maintained properly and inspected for safety.
  • Oversee the maintenance of treatment plant vehicles and stationary machinery as required.
  • Responsible for the oversight, modification and design of water systems including PAA, Chlorine, and all other Chemical systems utilized in the Livingston facilities

  • Provide oversight of chemical ordering and reporting to ensure compliance with city, state and
    federal requirements. 

  • Provide training and development for the Waste Water Treatment operators, Boiler Mechanics and DAF mechanics to ensure satisfactory job performance, employee safety and regulatory compliance. 

  • Provide oversight to staff to ensure that the Livingston Plant grounds and facilities are maintained to  include all roads, levies, wetland and storm water ponds.

  • Responsible for overseeing the process of monitoring and reporting storm water runoff for the Livingston Complex to Environmental Affairs to ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Develop and maintain the SOPs and PPE procedures for the waste water treatment system


Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wastewater Plant Operator with
    Waste Water treatment Plant Operator certification

  • Must have 3-5 years of supervisory experience overseeing waste water systems
    (Boilers, DA, BNR, PAA, Chlorine, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maintenance Field preferred

  • Must be literate in Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Must be able to utilize data to plan and execute and monitor success of projects

  • Must communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Must\ be able to work independently with little direction from upper level management

  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools, vehicles and heavy equipment

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to tolerate extreme fluctuations in temperature while performing
    essentials functions

  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights

  • Must be able to submit and pass criminal background check
