Job Description
Purpose of position:
Will manage the purchase and delivery of goods and services needed by the business in an efficient and cost effective manner and provide detailed knowledge of the assigned spend and process and develop the appropriate supply base in conjunction with Sourcing Managers and Internal Customers. Drive business values by analyzing spend, identifying areas of opportunity, reporting to the business, and leading projects that deliver improvement and achievement of Sourcing Objectives. Will support Sourcing Managers, when appropriate, providing additional expertise for strategy, negotiation, and purchase of all materials. Competitively bid purchases, to identify and deliver cost reduction as well as contribute to process efficiency. Required to establish and maintain purchase information in SAP for Accounts Payable and Purchasing, consistent with company goals and specifications for quality and timeliness. Will be a key team member in providing input to drive lowest total cost and continuous improvement while ensuring supply continuity and drive total value.
Essential Job Functions:
Support Sourcing Managers with workload, capable of supporting all buy spaces with data, cost analysis, strategy, negotiation, project implementation and/or purchasing develop sources, prepare RFPs and solicit bids, negotiate pricing, commit Company to procurement of packaging materials in support of assigned spend, sourcing objectives, priorities, and manage vendor relationships.
Interface with Marketing, IT, R&D, Accounting, and Operations in support of Company projects that drive improvement with consideration to priority; developing standardized tools in order to measure, communicate, and track progress and priority.
Support Sourcing Managers in the preparation and tracking of sourcing objectives, support special projects and development of new initiatives, cross-functional team building, monitoring and development of standardized policies and procedures
Maintain contracts, reports, information, or source lists; provide guidance on planning to purchasing clerks.
Additional Functions:
Provide training and leadership to newer members of department
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree, plus three-five year’s experience in Sourcing, Engineering, or Business in a manufacturing environment
Competent with purchasing strategy, negotiation, and portfolio management
Strong Analytical and problem solving skills:
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver results
Advanced Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (or equivalent). Access (or equivalent) a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage data and complete mass data analysis
Ability to lead teams and communicate with impact; clear and concise
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
MBA preferred
Ability to move up 2 levels within the organization.
Experience with mainframe computerized purchasing and MRP systems, preferably SAP background.
6-sigma or Lean training
Ability to manage projects to closure, work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the success of the group.

Ability to sit for long periods of time
Consistent and reliable attendance
Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations
Reliable transportation in order to attend off-site meetings
Ability to travel periodically
