Job Description

Rate: $22.75-25.10

MECHANIC A ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Replacing bad valves and pipes as they wear out.
  2. Weld up leaks in product lines and tanks.
  3. Repair pumps, motors, electrical & air valves.
  4. Service all plants equipment on a timely schedule.
  5. Build and Repair dairy jobs as required.

Rate: $18-20.60

MECHANIC B ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist mechanics in performing and documenting daily preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairs for the production areas.
  2. Perform troubleshooting & repairs (within level of experience) when mechanic is not available
  3. Monitor and maintain DAF system and flow meter, boilers, liquid urea , Micro Batcher, bag houses / Torit system, clay
  4. Monitor and complete paperwork for San Joaquin Air district permits within the plant (12 permits)
  5. Assist mechanics with periodic inspections of Plant for maintenance, safety, and environmental issues.
  6. Assist in fabrication of components as needed for repairs/ modifications
  7. Housekeeping of shop & parts inventory, and project clean up

MECHANIC A ADDITIONAL FUNCTINOS:

General cleaning. Assist plant personnel when needed.

MECHANIC b additional functions:

Perform other job duties when not needed/available to assist mechanics including utility/warehouse, loading and unloading operators and commodities processer positions.

Spot all rail cars in correct position for production

Qualifications

Mechanic A requirements:

  1. 2 Years Welding Experience with electric/gas unit.
  2. Math, reading, and writing capabilities.
  3. Knowledge of electrical wiring for 110/220/440 volts.
  4. Capability of repairing pumps, motors and valves.
  5. Working at heights of up to 80 ft.
  6. Capability of lifting 100 pounds.
  7. Must have an overall favorable employment record and attendance record.
  8. Working all shifts; Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  9. Must be willing to rotate into various departments with varying job duties as needed.
  10. Must be able to show up to work daily and be on-time to perform the duties of the position.

Mechanic B requirements:

1. 2-3 years of training and/or experience which has provided a basic working knowledge of the fat and oil operations, or similar systems and practices including; proper lockout/tagout procedures, confined spaces, and MSDS.

2. Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks including lifting (up to 80 lbs.), working in confined spaces, ability to work at heights (70 feet), climbing up/down ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, and reach on a daily/repetitive basis.

3. Must have basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools.

4. Must have the ability to:

a. Learn to read and understand basic blueprints, schematics, repair manuals

b. Learn to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair: propane burner, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and 3 phase electrical problems.

c. Learn how to weld using wire feed or stick welders, on both mild and stainless steel.

d. Learn how to use cutting torch and plasma cutter.

5. Basic plumbing skills.

6. Good problem solving skills.

7. Ability to operate all plant equipment and machinery including rolling stock (trucks/trailers, forklifts, loaders, manlifts).

8. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

9. Good mathematical skills.

10. Excellent attendance record.

11. Ability and desire to work up to higher level maintenance position.
