Job Description

Purpose of position:
Oversee and coordinate the functions of Scheduling, Forecasting, Inventory Control and distribution for Demopolis, Corvallis, Livingston Deli Plant, Porterville Cooked plant, Farmerville Cooked plant; Fernando’s Mexican Food plant and 3-5 Co-packing operations. Coordinate production availability and sales requests to fulfill customer needs while maximizing operation efficiencies and inventory holding costs. Ensure frozen inventory levels at all third party storage facilities are optimized to allow the highest order fill rates, while maintaining the lowest handling and storage cost. Communicate short/long term inventory positions and capacity constraints to appropriate channels. Manage Marketing and Sales requests through balance of production capabilities’. Coordinate the total company space requirements for frozen goods on a rolling 6-12 month plan to be updated each period. Responsible for creating and maintaining product tracking procedures that allow for Mock recall accuracy for audit purposes and actual recall data collection in addition to, communicating this data to QA management in the event of an actual retrieval/recall situation.

1. Create guidelines and direct staff to ensure all weekly production schedules meet the order file rate goals, optimize production efficiencies, and annual inventory plan.
2. Create and present annual production planning to executive staff for prepared foods and cooked production to optimize production capacity and inventory storage costs.
3. Create, communicate and monitor frozen storage space requirements to ensure lowest cost for transportation and handling by code / customer
4. Direct product flows and information between all productions; Storage and distribution facilities (Frozen Foods)
5. Oversee the management of frozen inventories in third party storage to ensure proper rotation, and best distribution chain for all frozen products.
6. Maintain inventories of third party facilities on WMS / SAP systems to ensure proper tracking of all products for retrieval / recall purposes
7. Ensure the proper use of SAP system to improve the short and long term planning and execution of production plans
8. Special Assignments as needed
9. Ensure Mock Recall/Recall processes are in place and followed for every recall issued from QA.

Additional duties:
1. Support overall Foster Farms Product Control and scheduling functions
2. Develop current staff - by cross training employees on all essential job functions
3. Document and create daily, weekly and period work processes on SAP

Qualifications

1. Degree in business / accounting management
2. Two-five years experience in statistical analysis preferred.
3. 5 years experience with production planning and/or Inventory management in food or related industry.
4. Knowledge of or experience with large multi-plant systems in production / forecasting of customer service areas.
5. Understanding of production flows from order entry to customer deliveries.
6. Strong Computer Skills (SAP, BW, WMS, Excel, Power point)-Preferred
7. Ability to assist with the set-up and implementation of new computer system.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external personnel.
9. Regular and consistent attendance in the office is required.
10. Strong organizational and planning skills.
